A Selfsame Well
Portraits of A Shoebox
In My Own
Project 4

This project is based on an antiquated Pagan holiday that serves as a celebration of rebirth and renewal. It is said that on this day, the veils between this world and the next are at their thinnest, symbolizing a time when everything dies in order that it may be reborn anew. The project originated with my relocation from Montana to San Francisco, and my inability to relate to the concretized wilderness of city life. The element in which I had been defined withered, initiating a reincarnation of definition concerning my environs. So too, do my images experience this process of death and revival. Through an inundation of caustic chemistry most images are lost, like whisps of evanescent memory into oblivion. The few that do survive persist as metaphors for a new haunting and otherworldly perception.
